U. S. Army Transportation Corps #1149

Built by Davenport-Bester Corporation, the number 1149 is a 1-B-1 experimental gas-turbine locomotive which has two Boeing 502-2E, 150HP jet engine, type gas turbines and was tested by the Army at Fort Eustis, VA. It was donated to the museum in 1980 by its designer R. Tom Sawyer.
