Go By Train!

Come join the St. Louis Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society and the Museum of Transportation as we participate the 10th Annual Smithsonian Museum Day on September 27, 2014.  There will be representatives from many of the area railroad groups, trolley rides, special exhibits and events all day.

A Private Railcar Tour of the Southwestern USA

Join the St. Louis Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society for a one-time private car trip through the southwestern United States to Los Angeles, San Diego and San Antonio. We will travel on the private rail car Cimarron River, a vintage sleeping car from the prime of the streamlined era.

2nd Annual Station Tour

Come join the St. Louis Chapter, NRHS for our 2nd Annual Station Tour. This year's tour will feature railroad stations in Southern Missouri. This all day tour will be visiting stations of the former St. Louis Iron Mountain & Southern, the Missouri Pacific, and the Frisco as well. Stations will be visited as far south as Poplar Bluff.

2014 NRHS National Convention

Ticket sales are now open for the 2014 NRHS Convention in Springdale, Arkansas. Highlighting this year's convention is three days of charter passenger trains on the Arkansas & Missouri Railroad, all powered by the A&M's remaining fleet of Alco locomotives, plus an Alco-powered photo freight through the Ozark Mountains. Other events include rides on the Fort Smith Trolley Museum and the coach and dinner trains of the Eureka Springs & North Arkansas Railroad. Special tours will be held at the Fort Smith Frisco Depot and the Arkansas & Missouri shops. Convention-goers can also enjoy the first ever behind-the-scenes tour of the steam railroad at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. Non-rail events include a day tour of the historic town of Eureka Springs and nearby War Eagle Mill, the internationally famous Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Walmart Visitors Center located in the original Walton's 5 & 10, and the Botantical Garden of the Ozarks.


LOCATION: The 2014 NRHS Convention will be based in Springdale, Arkansas from June 10, 2014 to June 14, 2014 plus one day of public trips on June 15, 2014.


REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION: Registration information is now available for download and tickets are on sale through the online system. NRHS is offering a partial payment option for convention sales.

    2013 NRHS Convention

    The DVD Video highlights the 2013 NRHS Convention in Anchorage and the pre-convention activities in Fairbanks. Included are Discovery paddle-wheeler on the Chena River, Pioneer Park in Fairbanks, North Pole, Fairbanks to Anchorage via Denali, Alaska State Fairgrounds, Anchorage, Seward, Whittier, and more.

    The Chapter has enjoyed participating in and hosting many historical railroad events for nearly 50 years. Many of these fine events included a Route Guide. We are pleased to make some these available for your enjoyment.
